Alright, so I’ve been playing Stardew Valley for a while now, and let me tell you, catching a catfish has been a real pain. I mean, these slippery guys are worth some good money, but getting them on the hook? That’s another story.
So, I started by reading up a bit on how to catch these fish. I found out that they only show up during Spring and Fall, and only when it’s raining. Okay, fair enough. I kept an eye on the weather forecast like a hawk.
First, I waited for a rainy day in Spring. I grabbed my fishing rod and headed to the river in town. I cast my line out, waited, and waited. I got a few bites, but mostly just the usual river fish. No catfish.
Then, I remembered that there’s also a secret woods area with a pond. Maybe the catfish hang out there too? I made my way over, found a nice spot by the pond, and started fishing. Again, lots of waiting, lots of regular fish, but still no catfish.
I tried different spots along the river, both in town and in the forest. I even tried fishing at different times of the day, thinking maybe these catfish are picky about their schedule. Nope, nothing.
- Spring: Rainy days were my only hope. I spent so many rainy days just fishing, it felt like I was living in a perpetual downpour.
- Fall: When Fall rolled around, I thought, “Okay, maybe this is my season.” Nope. Still the same story. Rain, fishing, no catfish.
I was starting to think these catfish were just a myth. But then, one rainy day in Fall, it finally happened. I was fishing in the river near the wizard’s tower, and I felt a strong tug on my line. I carefully reeled it in, and there it was – a catfish! I couldn’t believe it.
It took me ages, but I finally caught one. I kept fishing on rainy days after that, and I managed to catch a few more. It’s still not easy, but at least I know it’s possible.
Tips From My Experience
- Patience: You’ll need a lot of it. These fish are rare, so be prepared to spend a lot of time waiting.
- Rainy Days: Keep a close eye on the weather forecast. Rainy days are your only chance.
- Spring and Fall: These are the only seasons you’ll find them.
- River and Secret Woods Pond: These are the places I had the most luck, especially the river near the wizard’s tower.
Catching a catfish in Stardew Valley is definitely a challenge, but it’s also pretty rewarding when you finally do it. Just be prepared for a lot of trial and error, and don’t give up!
