Okay, so, I was looking into this golfer, Xander Schauffele, today. You know, just surfing the web for some updates and stuff. Pretty interesting guy, actually.
First, I started with the usual, just a general search about him. Found out he’s an American pro golfer, plays on the PGA Tour. Born in, get this, 1993. Man, I feel old. I also found that his full name is Alexander Victor Schauffele. Pretty cool, right?
Then, I dug a little deeper into his recent news. Seems like he’s been killing it lately. One article mentioned he equaled the lowest score in men’s Major Championship history, not once, but twice in less than a year! I mean, that’s just insane. This happened at Valhalla, whatever that means. And another one talked about him leading the Olympics Golf, even after fighting off an ant attack. Sounds like something out of a movie. He was at Le Golf National, I think that’s in Paris.
- I also stumbled upon some info about his coach, Stefan, a guy who apparently used to work at the Princeville Resort in Hawaii. Sounds like a nice gig.
- And his caddie, Austin Kaiser, they’ve been working together for years. They even played college golf together at San Diego State University. That’s a cool backstory.
I spent a good chunk of time just reading various articles, and some had some detailed analysis of his game. One of them said he was sixth for “strokes gained approaching the green.” Sounds important, but I don’t really know what that is. Also, there was something about his best work being done with an iron in his hand.
Personal Life Tidbits
I even checked out some stuff about his personal life. Nothing too juicy, just that he turned 30 last October. Time flies, huh?
So yeah, that was my little deep dive into Xander Schauffele. It is not exactly changing the world or anything, but it was a fun little distraction. Makes you appreciate these athletes and all the work they put in. And hey, maybe I’ll actually try to watch some golf this weekend. We’ll see.
