Alright, so I’ve been itching to get my hands on Helldivers 2, and I finally took the plunge and pre-ordered it on Steam. Let me tell you, the whole process was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m here to share my experience.
First off, I headed over to the Steam page for Helldivers 2. I’ve been following this game for a while, and the hype was real. I quickly glanced at the pre-order bonuses because who doesn’t love extra goodies? I saw some cool stuff: the “TR-7 Ambassador of the Brand” DLC, the “TR-62 Knight” DLC, and the “TR-9 Cavalier of Democracy” DLC. Sounded pretty sweet, right? So I decided to just do it and pre-order.
I clicked on the pre-order button, selected my preferred payment method and then I paid the money. Seemed easy enough. But here’s where it got a little tricky. I was super eager to get those pre-order codes and make sure everything was set up correctly before the release.
I rummaged through my email, looking for anything from Steam about the pre-order. I found the receipt, but no codes. I began to wonder how I’d get those sweet, sweet bonuses. I thought maybe I needed to link my Steam account to something, but there wasn’t much info around.
So, I did what any normal person would do – I started digging around the internet. I found a little blurb saying something about cross-progression and EU PS accounts, but that didn’t really apply to me since I was all in on Steam. Still, it got me thinking that maybe there was some linking process I needed to do.
After a bit more searching, I found some info from the developers that said the pre-order bonuses would be automatically added to my account when the game launched. It was a bit of a relief, but I was still a little anxious about it. I mean, I wanted to be absolutely sure I’d get those bonuses.
Then, I had an idea. I launched Helldivers 2 on my computer. I went into the game’s “Options” menu. And there it was – a section for “Account.” I don’t know how to describe it but the pre-order DLC was shown there!
So, in the end, it turned out alright. I got my pre-order in, and the bonuses were right there waiting for me in the game. It was a bit of a journey, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Now I’m just counting down the days until I can dive into Helldivers 2 and start blasting away with my new gear.
