I gotta tell you guys, I got my hands on those Gonzaga Kraziness in the Kennel tickets this year, and man, was it a rush! I heard they sold out in, like, 30 minutes or something crazy like that. I made sure I was ready when they went on sale, kept refreshing the page like a madman. Finally, got ’em!
So, Saturday comes around, and I’m hyped. I’ve been waiting for this for months! This is actually my first time attending a Kraziness in the Kennel. We get to the McCarthey Athletic Center. It is buzzing, packed with fans all decked out in Gonzaga gear. I found my seat and settled in, soaking up the atmosphere.
Event Kick-off
Around 3 p.m., things finally got going. First, they introduced the women’s team, and the crowd went wild. It is cool to see the support for both the men’s and women’s teams. Then, it was time for the main event: the men’s team!
They had this whole player intro thing, which was pretty cool. Each player came out to their own music, some cool dance moves were presented, the place went nuts.
Scrimmage Time
Next up, they did a little scrimmage. Now, this wasn’t a real game or anything, just a chance to see the guys in action. But you could still feel the intensity, you know? I was watching the new guys closely, trying to see how they’d fit in. There’s this one transfer, Khalif Battle, who came over from Arkansas. I heard he was a scorer, and man, he did not disappoint. He was hitting threes, driving to the basket, just doing it all.
Skills Contest
After the scrimmage, they had some fun skills contests. There was a three-point shootout, a dunk contest, all that good stuff. It was entertaining to watch, and the players seemed to be having a blast. I am impressed by their techniques and skills.
Wrapping Up
The whole event wrapped up around 6 p.m. I grabbed some snacks with my friends and we headed out, still buzzing from the energy in the Kennel. It was an awesome experience, and I’m already looking forward to the actual season starting. Go Zags!
