Alright, so I’ve been grinding away at Escape from Tarkov, and let me tell you, this “Revision – Lighthouse” task? It’s been kicking my butt. I jumped in all excited, thinking, “Yeah, I got this!” But boy, was I wrong.
First off, I loaded into the game, geared up with my best stuff – you know, the usual. I was feeling pretty confident. The goal was to hit up the Lighthouse map and mark a bunch of vehicles. Sounds easy enough, right? I mean, I’ve done similar stuff before in Tarkov. But this time, it was different. The Lighthouse map, man, it’s a whole other beast.
I started my raid during the day, thinking it would give me the best visibility. The first thing I did was try to find a good vantage point. I climbed up a hill, got a decent view of the water treatment plant, and started scanning for those vehicles I needed to mark. I had four MS2000 markers in my inventory, ready to go. But here’s where it all started to go downhill.
The place was crawling with NPCs, and these weren’t your average scavs. These were those tough-as-nails Rogues. I tried to sneak around, using the bushes and buildings for cover. But they spotted me. Next thing I know, I’m getting shot at from every direction. I managed to take a couple of them down, but there were just too many. I got pinned down, used up most of my meds, and had to retreat. I was like, “Nope, not happening.” I extracted with my tail between my legs.
After that first failed attempt, I thought, “Okay, maybe daytime isn’t the way to go.” So, I waited for nightfall and tried again. Night raids are usually a bit quieter, but they’re also super spooky. I equipped my night vision goggles and crept back into the water treatment plant. It was eerie, to say the least. I managed to get closer to the BRDMs and Strykers this time, but those Rogues, they’re like ninjas in the dark. They were on me before I even knew what was happening. Another firefight, another narrow escape. I was starting to feel like I’d never complete this task.
Loot and More Troubles
I did a few more raids, focusing on getting better gear. The loot on Lighthouse is insane, by the way. I found some really valuable stuff, which was a nice bonus. But even with better gear, completing the task was a nightmare. I realized that the community was right – Lighthouse is one of the toughest maps in Tarkov. There’s something about the layout, the enemy placement, the whole vibe of the place. It’s just brutal.
I also heard about this whole drama with the Unheard Edition upgrade, and it got me thinking about the game’s direction. But honestly, I was too focused on trying to mark those damn vehicles to care much about that.
Strategies and More Attempts
I started talking to other players, looking for tips and strategies. Some people suggested going in with a squad, but I’m more of a solo player. I like the challenge, you know? Others said to wait until later in the raid when other players might have cleared out some of the NPCs. That sounded like a decent plan, but it didn’t quite work out for me. The Rogues were always there, waiting.
I even tried changing my approach entirely. Instead of going straight for the objectives, I tried to play it slow, taking out the Rogues one by one. I used suppressors, stayed hidden, and tried to be as stealthy as possible. This worked a little better, but it was still incredibly difficult. I managed to mark one of the BRDMs, but then I got ambushed. I barely made it out alive, and I was starting to lose hope.
Persistence
Despite all the failures, I kept at it. I learned a bit more about the map with each raid. I discovered some good hiding spots, learned the patrol routes of the Rogues, and got better at predicting their movements. It was a slow and painful process, but I was determined to complete the task.
After countless attempts, I finally had a breakthrough. I went in at night, took it super slow, and managed to mark both BRDMs. I was so relieved, but I still had to get the Strykers. I moved towards their location, heart pounding, knowing that one mistake could ruin everything. I got lucky – a group of players had engaged the Rogues near the Strykers, drawing their attention away from me. I seized the opportunity, dashed in, marked the first Stryker, then the second. I didn’t stick around to celebrate; I sprinted towards the extract, dodging bullets and praying I’d make it out.
And I did. I finally extracted, task complete. It was one of the most intense and satisfying moments I’ve had in Tarkov. “Revision – Lighthouse” might have wrecked me over and over, but I finally got it done. It was a real test of patience, skill, and determination. And let me tell you, it felt damn good to finally conquer that challenge.
So, yeah, that’s my story of tackling “Revision – Lighthouse.” It was a wild ride, full of frustration, near-death experiences, and a whole lot of learning. If you’re planning to take on this task, be prepared for a tough fight. But trust me, the feeling of accomplishment when you finally complete it? It’s worth all the pain.
