Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole fantasy football thing, and let me tell you, picking a team name is way harder than it looks. I mean, you gotta have something catchy, something that shows you know your stuff, but also, you know, something that’s kinda funny. So, since I’ve got Brock Purdy on my team – yeah, that’s right, Mr. Irrelevant himself – I figured I’d go with a name that plays on that.
I started out just brainstorming, writing down anything that came to mind. I jotted down a bunch of names.
First Attempts
- Purdy’s Posse – I thought it was fine, it’s all right.
- Brock Stars – Kinda like rock stars, but, you know, with Brock. It’s okay.
- Mr. Irrelevant’s Revenge – I thought it’s a bit long, and doesn’t roll off the tongue, but it gets the point across.
Then I started thinking about puns, because who doesn’t love a good pun? That got me to things like:
- Brock and a Hard Place
- Brock Solid– I laughed. This one’s a classic.
- Purdy Good
I showed these to my buddies, and we had a good laugh. Some of them were into the punny ones, others thought they were lame. One of them suggested “Purdy Mouth”, which I thought was pretty funny, but maybe a little too…much, you know? Then I remembered someone said “Brock Steady” which is a good one.
I even started playing around with his name, trying to make it sound like other words or phrases. That’s where I got stuff like:
- Purdy Little Liars
- Brock Around The Clock
I was getting kinda tired of this by now, but I kept pushing. I wanted something unique, something that no one else would have. So I went back to the whole “Mr. Irrelevant” thing and tried to build on that. I was thinking, what if he’s not irrelevant anymore? What if he’s the most important guy on the team?
Breakthrough
That’s when I hit on it. “The Relevant Mr. Purdy”. It’s got that ironic twist, you know? It’s like saying, “Yeah, they called him irrelevant, but look at him now.” Plus, it sounds kinda classy, right? Like a movie title or something.
So, yeah, after all that, I finally landed on “The Relevant Mr. Purdy.” I’m pretty stoked about it. I think it’s gonna be a good luck charm. Now, all I gotta do is actually win some games. Wish me luck!
