Alright, let’s talk about the Dallas Mavericks. You know, I’ve been following their games recently and it got me thinking – why not keep track of their scores myself? So, I started this little project.
First off, I grabbed a notebook and a pen. Yeah, old school, but it works for me. I wanted to see how they performed in each game, not just the final score, but also how they did in each quarter.
Getting Started
- Find the Schedule: I looked up the Mavericks’ schedule. There are plenty of places to find this info. I just wanted a simple list of their games for the season.
- Watch the Games: This is the fun part, right? I tried to catch as many games as I could. Live is best, but sometimes I had to watch the highlights later.
- Record the Data: After each game, or even during the game if I could, I jotted down the scores. I made columns for the date, the opponent, and the scores for each quarter (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and OT if it went to overtime).
Then I started noticing some other things I wanted to track. Like, who were their top scorers? How many three-pointers did they make? What about free throws? So, I added a few more columns to my notebook:
- Top Scorer: Who scored the most points in the game?
- Three-Pointers: How many successful three-point shots did they make?
- Free Throws: How many free throws did they make out of how many attempts?
Keeping it Updated
This became a nightly routine for me during the season. Watch the game, jot down the scores and stats, and repeat. I even started color-coding wins and losses – green for wins, red for losses. Makes it easy to see their record at a glance.
One thing that really stood out was how they performed in close games. I started marking down whether they won or lost those nail-biters. It’s interesting to see if there’s a pattern there.
Analyzing the Data
After a while, I had a decent amount of data. I’m no statistician, but I could see some trends. Like, which players stepped up in big games, or how the team’s performance changed throughout the season. For example, they kept their hold on fourth place by beating the Suns.
It’s been a fun little project. It’s not super high-tech or anything, but it’s a cool way for me to engage with the games and learn a bit more about the team. Plus, it’s satisfying to look back at the notebook and see the whole season laid out like that.
So, yeah, that’s how I’ve been keeping track of the Dallas Mavericks’ scores. Maybe you’ve got your own way of following your favorite team. Whatever it is, I think it’s cool that we all find our own ways to connect with the sports we love.
