Hey guys, it’s your boy back again with another Honkai: Star Rail build guide. Today, we’re talking about that new hotshot, Jiaoqiu, and how to make him an absolute beast on the battlefield. So I spent the whole weekend grinding relics for this dude, and let me tell you, it was a journey.
First off, I started by farming the Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters set. I heard from some folks online that this was the way to go, and the 12% damage boost against enemies with a debuff seemed pretty sweet. Plus, the four-piece effect sounded amazing, so I thought, “Why not?” I spent hours in the Cavern of Corrosion, battling those annoying automaton spiders and hoping for some good drops. I finally managed to get a decent set with some Effect Hit Rate and Speed substats. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a good starting point.
But then I thought, “What if I just focus on Speed and Effect Hit Rate?” I had a bunch of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace pieces lying around, and those give a nice Speed boost. So I started mixing and matching, trying to find the perfect combination of two-piece sets. I ended up with a Messenger two-piece and some other random pieces that had good Speed and EHR rolls. Honestly, it looked kinda messy, but the stats were there, so I rolled with it.
- Tried the full Pioneer Diver set – Decent damage, but felt a bit slow.
- Experimented with Messenger two-piece – Felt much faster, debuffs landed more often.
- Ended up with a mix-and-match set – Best of both worlds, I guess?
After settling on the relics, I focused on getting his Light Cone sorted. I didn’t have any of the limited 5-star ones, so I had to make do with what I had. I found an old 4-star one that boosted Effect Hit Rate, which seemed to do the trick. It wasn’t ideal, but it helped Jiaoqiu land his debuffs more consistently.
Team Setup Experiments
Next up, team comps. I tried pairing Jiaoqiu with Acheron, since I heard they synergized well. And boy, were they right! Jiaoqiu’s ability to apply debuffs on both his turn and the enemy’s turn made Acheron’s attacks hit like a truck. I also threw in a healer and another support character to keep everyone alive and kicking. It took some trial and error to find the right balance, but once I did, it was smooth sailing.
So there you have it, my journey to building Jiaoqiu. It wasn’t easy, and there were definitely some frustrating moments, but in the end, it was all worth it. Seeing Jiaoqiu dominate the battlefield with his debuffs and support abilities made me feel like a proud parent. If you’re planning on building Jiaoqiu, I hope my experience helps you out. Just remember, it’s all about experimenting and finding what works best for you. Happy gaming, everyone!
