Okay, so I’ve been trying to keep up with the Virginia football team, and honestly, it’s been a bit of a wild ride. I started this whole thing because I wanted to know who was playing where, you know, the whole depth chart situation. It’s not like they just hand this stuff out at the games.
First, I spent hours scouring the internet for any scrap of information. I was looking everywhere, from official team pages to random sports blogs. My goal was to piece together the most accurate depth chart I could. The official depth chart comes out next week, so I’d better try my best before that.
Offense
So, I started with the offense. It seems like Malachi Fields, number 8, is a big deal at wide receiver. This guy is huge, 6-4, 220 pounds. He’s a senior, so he’s got experience. Then there’s another wide receiver, JR Wilson, number 6, who’s also pretty tall. These guys are going to be tough to cover.
- WR-X:
- 8, Malachi Fields (RS JR, 6-4, 220)
- WR-Z:
- 2, Andre Greene Jr. (JR/TR)
- WR-SL:
- 4, Chris Tyree (GR/TR)
- LT:
- 52, McKale Boley (6-5, 313, Jr.)
Defense
I didn’t spend as much time on the defense, but I did notice a few names popping up. I’ll have to dig deeper on that later. I just skimmed through it and found nothing interesting to note yet.
Special Teams
Now, this is where it got a little interesting. On the kickoff return, it looks like Kam Courtney replaced Xavier Brown. So now it’s Chris Tyree and Kam Courtney back there. I guess they’re trying to shake things up a bit.
- Kickoff Returner:
- Chris Tyree
- Kam Courtney
After compiling all this, I put together a rough draft of the depth chart. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start. I checked it against a few sources, and it seemed to line up pretty well.
Finally, I had something that looked like a real depth chart. I shared it with a few buddies who are also into Virginia football, and they were pretty impressed. It felt good to have something concrete after all that work.
This whole process taught me a lot about how to research and compile information. And, of course, I learned a ton about the Virginia football team. I’m still updating it as I find new info, but it’s been a fun project. Go Hoos!
