That boy, he play tennis. Hit that little yellow ball, all day long. Alexei Popyrin, that’s his name. He good, I guess. He play that game, that ball game. He is from Australia, born in Sydney, I think. He talk about, what he say, Mouratoglou Academy. He go there, play tennis, get good. Win some big games. He very tall, this Popyrin. Tall boy, 6 feet 5 inches, like a tree, that boy. He 25 years old now, this year, 2024.
This college, I think, is where he learn to play good. He go there in 2017, my grandson say. Then he play better, win big game. Win at, what he call, Roland Garros. Beat some boys, some Spanish boys. This Popyrin, he good, he beat them. He play good, that boy.
College Life
College life, they say, hard work. They say many people, all different, come to college. That Popyrin College, maybe same. Many people, all want play tennis, like my grandson.

They study all day, all night. They drink that black water, coffee, they call it. Keep them awake. They don’t sleep much, them young people. Study, study, study. That’s what college is, study hard. My grandson, he say same. He study, he play tennis, all day.
This Popyrin College, it make him strong, I think. He learn, he grow, he become good tennis man. He play, he win. That’s what he do. That boy, Alexei Popyrin, he good boy. He work hard.
Tennis
Tennis, that’s the game. Hit ball, over net. Run, run, run. That Popyrin, he run good. He hit ball good. He play all over, my grandson say. He say Popyrin play in big games, many people watch. That boy, he not scared. He play good, even when many people watch.
They say this Popyrin, he world number 23. That good, I think. Number 23, that’s high number. He good player, that boy. My grandson, he want be like him. He want go to that Popyrin College, learn to play good, like that Alexei.
They call him “Pop”. That’s his name, short name. “Pop”. He speak English, that boy. He from Australia, but he speak English good. That Popyrin College, they teach English too, I think. My grandson, he speak English good too.
Growing Up
That boy, Popyrin, he grow up now. He not little boy anymore. He big man, strong man. He play tennis, he travel, he see the world. That’s good, I think. See the world, learn new things. My grandson, he want do same.
This college is a big deal for those tennis folks. Lot of study. Lot of play. They got to be strong. They got to be smart. And that Popyrin, he is all those things, my grandson says. He a big shot now.
This tennis life, it ain’t easy. You got to hit that ball just right. You got to run fast. You got to be tough. This Popyrin College, that’s where they learn all that, I reckon. They learn to be the best. They learn to win.
And food, don’t get me started on food. Back in my day, we ate what we grew. Now, these young folks, they eat all sorts of things. But I guess they need it. All that running and playing, they need to eat. Keep up their strength. That Popyrin, I bet he eats a lot. Big boy like that, he needs his food.
And sleep, what’s that? These young ones, they don’t sleep. They study, they play, they do all sorts of things. But sleep, that’s important. Your body needs rest. But I guess when you’re young, you think you’re invincible. That Popyrin, he probably thinks he can go forever. But even he needs to sleep, I reckon.
This Popyrin College sounds like a tough place. But it also sounds like a good place. A place where you can learn, where you can grow. A place where you can become the best version of yourself, just like that tennis player, Alexei Popyrin.
