Well, I heard that the Mets manager, that Buck guy, he’s gone now. They say they want someone new to lead the team. That team, they need someone who knows what they’re doing, you know? They got good players, but they just ain’t winning like they should.
New Guy in Charge
They got this new fella, Stearns, I think his name is. He’s the big boss now. And he’s gonna pick the new Mets manager. Heard he’s looking at all sorts of folks. Don’t matter if they’re young or old, long as they can get the job done, I reckon. I saw a list, it is quite long. They have a lot to choose.
This ain’t no easy job, leading them Mets. They change managers like I change my socks! Five managers in eight seasons. Can you believe that? It’s like a revolving door over there. Hope this new one sticks around a while. It’s time to find someone good. It’s not easy to find, but they need to do it.

That Cohen fella, he’s the owner. He said it weren’t nothing against Buck, just wanted to go a different way. Like when a new boss comes to a store, they bring in their own people. Makes sense, I guess. But still, it’s a shame to see Buck go. He seemed like a good man. I saw him on the TV, he looks like a good man.
Who Could It Be?
Now, who’s gonna be the new Mets manager? That’s the big question. They say there’s a bunch of fellas they’re looking at. Some young, some old, some I never even heard of. It is hard to say who will be the one. I don’t know, choosing someone is not easy. It takes time.
There’s this one guy, Eric Chavez. Heard he might be a good one. I don’t know him, but they say good thing about him. He used to be with the team, so he knows the ropes. Maybe he’s the one they need. I really don’t know. This is a tough decision.
Whoever they pick, I hope he’s tough. Them New York fans, they’re a handful. They expect wins, and they ain’t afraid to let you know when they’re unhappy. He has to make those fans happy. That is the most important thing.
This Mets manager job, it ain’t for the faint of heart. It is not a easy job, only tough people can do it. You gotta be strong, you gotta be smart, and you gotta know how to handle a bunch of grown men making millions of dollars. It ain’t like herding sheep, that’s for sure.
Hoping for the Best
I just hope they pick someone good this time. Someone who can bring them Mets back to the top. They got the money, they got the players, now they just need the right leader. They just need a good leader to win.
This Stearns fella, he seems like he knows what he’s doing. He’s got a big job ahead of him, picking the next Mets manager. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes, that’s for sure. But I’m hoping he makes the right choice. I hope he can find someone really good. They deserve it.
