Hey, folks! Let me tell you somethin’ ’bout that LeBron James, you know, the defensive player of the year. That boy, he’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. He plays that basketball real good. Always jumpin’ and runnin’. Strong as an ox, that one.
Now, I ain’t no expert on this whole defensive player of the year thing. I just watch the games sometimes on that fancy TV. But I seen that LeBron, he sure can stop them other fellas from gettin’ that ball in the hoop. He’s like a wall, I tell ya, a big, strong wall!
They got this fella, Anthony Davis, too. LeBron, he says this Davis fella should get that defensive player of the year award. He said it after they beat them Pistons. You know, them Detroit Pistons. They’re a team, too. A basketball team.
This whole thing, it’s been goin’ on for a while, you know. They got seasons, they call ’em. Like, we got winter, spring, summer, fall. They got basketball seasons. And it’s been more than three weeks, I heard. Three weeks into this season thing.
I remember one time, back in, oh, I don’t know, 2013, I think it was. That LeBron, he didn’t get the defensive player of the year. He got beat by some fella named Marc Gasol. Sounds like a car part, don’t it? Gasol. Anyway, LeBron, he weren’t too happy ’bout that. He said it “stings”. Like a bee sting, I reckon.
He was 28 years old then, I heard. Still a young fella, but playin’ like an old pro. That’s what they say, anyway. I don’t know what a “pro” is, but it sounds important.
That LeBron, he’s done a lot of things, you know. Won a lot of games, scored a lot of points. But he never did get that defensive player of the year. It’s like that one thing he just can’t seem to catch. Like a greased pig at the county fair. You try and try, but it just slips right through your fingers.
- He plays for the Lakers, you know. That’s a team. A basketball team.
- He’s real strong. Like a bull.
- He jumps real high. Like a grasshopper.
So, this LeBron defensive player of year, it’s a big deal. I hear folks talkin’ ’bout it all the time. They say he shoulda won it. They say he was robbed. Like someone stole it from him. I don’t know ’bout all that. I just know he’s a good player. A real good player.
He’s older now, that LeBron. Not as young as he used to be. But he’s still out there, jumpin’ and runnin’. Still tryin’ to get that defensive player of the year. Maybe he will, maybe he won’t. It’s like plantin’ seeds. You never know what’s gonna sprout.
This whole thing is a bit confusin’ to me, to be honest. All these awards and numbers and things. But I like watchin’ that LeBron play. He puts on a good show. He’s like a one-man circus, that fella. A one-man basketball circus.
I reckon that’s all I got to say ’bout this LeBron James defensive player of the year business. It’s a lot of fuss over a game, if you ask me. But it’s excitin’, I guess. Keeps folks entertained. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it? In this world, we all need a little somethin’ to keep us goin’.
And that LeBron, well, he sure keeps folks goin’. He’s somethin’ else, that one. Somethin’ else entirely. I’ll tell you that. He is strong. He can jump. And he sure can play that game. That basketball game. Yep, that LeBron defensive player of year, that’s a big story. That’s for sure.
That’s enough from me. I need to go tend to my chickens. They don’t care ’bout no defensive player of the year. They just want their feed. Just like that LeBron, he just wants that award. We all want somethin’, don’t we? Yep, we all do.
That Anthony Davis, though. Maybe he will get it. Who knows? It’s like pickin’ the biggest pumpkin at the fair. You just never know until they weigh it. But that LeBron, he sure wants to win. I can see it in his eyes. That fire is still burning.
Okay, now I’m really done. These old bones are tired. You young folks enjoy your basketball and your LeBron defensive player of year. Me? I’m gonna go sit on the porch and watch the sun set. That’s a show that never gets old.
