That Anthony Pierce, he’s a big shot now, huh? Head coach of them Raiders. Big strong boy, that one. He used to play football, you know. Played it good, too. Ran all over the field, knockin’ folks down. Nine years he played, ain’t that somethin’? Anthony Pierce, that’s his name. Remember it. He make those Raiders win, you watch.
He come from way back, this Anthony. Born in some place called… oh, what was it… Silverton, Oregon. Back in 1970. Long time ago, that was. He was always a doer, that one. Started playin’ that guitar when he was just a little tyke, six years old. Took lessons and everything. Even learned that fancy classical guitar stuff when he was 16. Talented boy. But football, that was his thing, I reckon.
Now he’s leadin’ that whole team, the Las Vegas Raiders. They say them players, they’re real happy about it. All excited and full of… emotion, they call it. Means they like him, I guess. They say them Raiders been doin’ better since he took over, too. More competitive, whatever that means. Just means they’re fightin’ harder, I suppose. That’s good, that’s what you want in a football team.
This fella, this Anthony Pierce, he got a chance, and he took it. Like a chicken snatchin’ a worm, he did. They say he thought he was gonna just be doin’ somethin’ with the defense, or coachin’ them linebackers. But nope, they made him the whole head honcho. Top dog. Big cheese. Whatever you wanna call it. He’s the one in charge now. They say he gonna do big things. That he know how to put a team in a good position to win. He know how to get it done.

They got this reporter fella, name of Paul. He writes about them Raiders. He says there’s four big questions about this Anthony Pierce gettin’ hired. Big questions! I don’t know what they are, but they must be important if they’re that big. Probably things like, “Can he win?” and “Will he make them boys behave?” and “Does he know what he’s doin’?” Things like that. Important stuff when you’re runnin’ a whole football team.
This Anthony, he also did somethin’ with movies, I hear. Somethin’ called “Terrible Angels”. He was a writer, and a director. Whatever that means. Probably just tellin’ folks what to do, like he does with them football players. He probably good at bossin’ folks around. He got that look about him. That “I’m in charge” look. He seem like a smart cookie.
They say that when opportunity comes knockin’, you gotta open the door. Well, this Anthony Pierce, he flung that door wide open. He saw his chance, and he grabbed it. Good for him. He gonna do just fine, that one. You just wait and see. He gonna make them Raiders win, and everyone gonna be talkin’ about Anthony Pierce. Mark my words.
Nine years he played in that NFL. That’s a long time to be runnin’ around and gettin’ knocked down. He must be tough as nails, that one. Tough as an old boot. He got that grit, that determination. You need that in football, and you need that in life. And that why he gonna be a good coach.
He probably yell at them players good, too. Get ’em all fired up. Make ’em wanna run through a brick wall. That’s what them coaches do, ain’t it? Yell and scream and make ’em work hard. He probably got a good yell on him, that Anthony Pierce.
So, yeah, that Anthony Pierce. He’s somethin’ else. From playin’ guitar to playin’ football to makin’ movies to coachin’ a whole team. He done it all. And now he’s the big boss of them Raiders. Just goes to show you, hard work pays off. And this Anthony, he’s a hard worker, that’s for sure. That why they call him the head coach.
