First year, things were rough. Didn’t win a single game. Oh, it was tough watchin’. But that Jalon, he kept his head up. Kept throwin’ that ball. He threw it 76 times, they say. For a whole lot of yards. 718, I think it was. And a touchdown! Just one, but it was a good one, I bet.

Now, them Kansas Jayhawks, they ain’t been doin’ so hot these past few years. Lots of losses. But this year, this year was different. They did better. Jalon, he helped with that, I’m sure of it.
The coach, that Lance fella, he seems like a good man. He’s sayin’ Jalon might come back and play some more. That would be somethin’, wouldn’t it? To see that boy play again? After the season ended, they had a tough loss. But that’s football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. That’s how that cookie crumbles.
